First-time customer to this Mobile staple, and the food was delicious! I ordered the bacon cheeseburger, and it was massive-- a larger burger than I expected for lunch. I got it fixed up with all the toppings, and it was perfect. My side of choice was the tomato & cucumber salad, and that was refreshing with the heaviness of the burger. Service was okay; the server seemed bothered overall. However, she wasn't rude and didn't sway me from returning again sometime. The restaurant is much smaller than I would've expected. Kind of cramped with a few four-top and six-top tables and a few booths. The booth we sat in was very rickety and when others sat on the other side of it, the entire bench and back rocked hard. Be warned! Otherwise, it's a fun little place with a cool vibe. I'd love to come back for a night of live music.

A staple of Mobile. Can't beat it. Try the patty melt. Live music is always good. Service was great!

We were told the hamburgers were excellent, and they did not disappoint. I ordered mine, medium, rare, and it was so juicy and delicious. This is a typical Irish pub, nothing fancy, but a lot of fun.

I always make a habit of stopping by Callaghan's Irish Social Club when I am visiting Mobile. They have a great selection of Irish beers and great hamburgers too! Situated in an old house in the middle of a Mobile neighborhood just outside of downtown, this place has epic Irish social club ambiance.

They often say the places you aren't sure about have some of the best food, definitely the case at Callaghans. It's a neighborhood bar in a quiet side of town, doesn't look like much from the outside. We were lucky enough to get inside before a show was about to kick off which wouldn't have allowed us in due to it being a paid performance. Nonetheless, we were seated upstairs by a young gentleman. They don't have menus, they have a piece of paper slapped on a standing frame. It's a simple concept and known that you need to order a burger going there. They were at one point touted by USA Today for being Alabama's Best burger and they weren't lying. This was probably one of my favorite things I had down in Mobile. Good size burger, incredibly juicy and cooked perfectly. It was everything you want and more served with a side of chips. Quite possibly one of the best burgers I've ever had, I hope my words are getting across to how good of a burger this was. I can only hope those reading my reviews can get a chance to check out this gem if and when in Mobile one day!

Came here after visiting the Oakleigh house. It was a great low key neighborhood bar. Good selection of beer. I had the Philly cheesesteak with the pasta salad on the side. The food was very good. All the staff were very nice. I need to come back to try the shrimp po boy.

With a great blues band and good service this bar is full of locals. The burger was tender yet no sausage in it tonight that is only certain days of week. The bread pudding is amazing with a sweet bourbon sauce. Cover tonight as the band was here but great music and beers go hand in hand

Once again, I ordered the BLT with chips and an ice cold Coors Banquet beer. The service is always very fast and again, Callaghan's delivers with the best BLT in town. I believe it's impossible to have anything else but the best in food and beverages. Enjoy the picture while I dig into this sandwich. Thanks to the staff for another great experience!

Great local spot in Mobile, Alabama. They have great southern hospitality with delicious eats. Our waitress was very nice and the food came out extremely fast which was great because we were very hungry! We ordered 1 grilled and 1 blackened shrimp po-boy to try them both and they were very similar so I'd recommend just ordering the blackened which had a bit more spice and kick to it. I'm not a sausage fan but my family absolutely loved the sausage burger and our waitress recommended that as a local favorite. We ended our meal with the bread pudding which had a warm whiskey caramel sauce on top and that was phenomenal! Highly recommended stop if your in the Mobile area.

Callaghan's was recommended because I said to a couple that Briquettes has the best burger. I spoke with the bartender Cheryl who has been there for "it seems" since the 90s, she was friendly, attentive and ran the bar and floor all by her lonesome. You can tell she is a seasoned server/bartender as she moves with ease, purpose all whilst building rapport. The burger was juicy, done to the temp requested, kept you coming back for more after each bite as the thick sliced bacon and fresh veggies blended with every chew. Constructively criticizing this gem would be to let the patty rest 60-90 seconds because the juices made the bottom half of the bun soggy on one side, which is what I ate first, . This was a solid burger, it dripped so much it was I used a few napkins under it to keep the juices under control, I highly recommend. They have crisps (Welsh for potato chips), instead of fries, living up to their theme. A cornucopia of photos are strewn over the walls with phrases thrown in here and there. You definitely feel the Irish vibe. Parking is on the street and with it's popularity, weekends will require a 2-3 block trek to this iconic bar.
